Version History
Every major version from 0.2 to 0.14.5 and the changes that matter for how you play.
Baldi’s Basics Plus has been in Early Access since June 2020, and almost every update changes how a run plays. This section tracks the versions, explains what changed and compares Plus with the original Baldi’s Basics, so you always know whether a tip still applies to the game you are playing.
Every major version from 0.2 to 0.14.5 and the changes that matter for how you play.
Version 0.14 came out in March 2026, and the 0.14.x patches that followed fixed bugs and reworked a few systems. The developer has described 0.14 as the last scheduled major Early Access update, with the focus now on 1.0. The August 2026 status update says that the secret content for 1.0 is in progress and that development is on schedule.

A tip from an old video can be wrong today. A few examples of mechanics that have changed:
Our guides say which version they were checked against, and we update them when the game changes.
Baldi’s Basics Plus grew out of Baldi’s Basics in Education and Learning, a game first made for the Meta Game Jam in 2018 and later re-released as Baldi’s Basics Classic Remastered. Plus keeps the idea of hide and seek with a teacher who follows every sound, but it replaces the single fixed school with generated levels, adds a shop, stickers, events and new characters, and turns a short run into a roguelike. Our comparison guides explain the differences in detail.
According to the game’s Steam page, the current Early Access version is very playable. It already has Hide & Seek, Endless mode, field trips, 13 characters, random events, educational minigames, a custom lighting system, a shop, save and continue, sound that travels through walls, a tutorial and a per-run upgrade system in the form of stickers. Still planned are secret levels, achievements, more horror elements, adaptive music and story elements.
New versions are announced in the devlogs on the game’s itch.io page and in the news section on Steam. Each post has a full changelog, including pre-release fixes and known issues. If a mechanic in a run doesn’t match what you read here, check your version number in the game first: Steam updates automatically, while an itch.io download has to be updated by hand.
Updates can reset some settings. Version 0.14.2, for example, moved control maps to each save file, so bindings from older versions had to be set again.
